How to Create a TikTok Comment Reply Mockup

Create a standalone TikTok reply-to-comment bubble, edit its username, avatar, text, and appearance, then export or add it to a story.

A TikTok comment reply mockup is one comment bubble used to introduce a response. In this example, a fictional viewer asks to see the version before an edit, giving the creator a clear question to answer in the next shot.

How to make the reply bubble

  1. Open the example. Choose Edit this reply above to load the same comment, username, avatar, and light bubble as the preview. Use the TikTok reply generator if you prefer to start with a preset.
  2. Change the comment author. In the TikTok reply editor, edit Reply username. Click the avatar to upload a picture and check its crop. These details identify the person whose comment appears in the bubble.
  3. Write the comment. Edit Comment. Keep it short and specific, such as “Can we see the version before the edit?” or “How did you light this?” The next shot should answer that question.
  4. Set the emoji and appearance. Use Emoji if the comment needs one, or remove it if the wording already supplies the tone. Choose a light or dark bubble through the appearance controls and check its contrast against your intended background.
  5. Download the standalone PNG. Open Export and download the PNG. Place the file in your intended composition and check the username, text, background, and edges at the final viewing size.

PNG export is free without an account. The Quick starts presets replace the comment, so recheck your wording after choosing one.

Add the reply to a TikTok story

  1. Choose Add to story from the reply editor.
  2. Add the background you want to use in the full TikTok story frame.
  3. Position the reply bubble so it leaves room for the subject and any captions.
  4. Preview the full composition and check that other text or controls do not cover the comment.
  5. Export the finished scene. Video export requires Pro.

A static PNG does not animate or become an interactive comment when uploaded.

Make the comment easy to read

Keep the username short and the comment to a few lines. If the bubble becomes too tall, shorten the wording before reducing its size. A light bubble can disappear against a pale background even when its text is dark, so check the whole composition.

Use fictional handles or identities and pictures approved for your project. The mockup does not post a real TikTok comment or create a reply on someone’s account.

Choose a different format when needed

Use the TikTok comments generator for multiple comments, likes, and nested answers. Use the TikTok DM tutorial for a private conversation. This reply format focuses on one public comment that sets up the response.

For help with the opening line, the texting-story writing guide explains how to create a question the viewer wants answered.

Before you export

  • Does the next shot answer the comment?
  • Can you read the username and text at the final size?
  • Does the bubble stand out against the background?
  • Is the fictional or approved mockup context clear?

Start the response with one comment

Edit the bubble first, then decide whether it needs a full story frame.
